Hamburg, Hafenstraße – a street with history. And little stories. And the “Schauermann”. A name that recalls the port and maritime history: the loading and unloading of ships by the “Schauermänner”.
GESINE GOLD was entrusted with creating the corporate design for the restaurant. The highest priority: authenticity. The architectural concept therefore incorporates simple, elegant materials like deep dark brown leather, lightly greige-colored walls in mineral tones, and maritime elements such as round portholes.
Less is more. Reduction creates space for thoughts and emotions. Ballast is shed. This enhances the significance of architecture. It creates room for furnishings and merges with them to form a multifaceted whole.
Clear lines and proportions. A sensual purism of form and material, as well as bright spaces that, through large windows, make the harbor view an integral part of the interior.
The brand mark symbolizes a well-known sculpture of the “Schauermann” by an artist. It embodies timeless elegance through the use of blind embossing with subtly emphasized form.
The balancing act of the corporate design is achieved through simplicity, focus on the essentials, and quality. Less is more.
Fine, tactually sensitive paper materials are employed. Film sequences of the French Riviera in the 1960s convey a unique “savoir-vivre” feeling.
Critical is the symbolism of patina: a Riva, the luxury vessels of the coasts. Finest mahogany, gleaming chrome, and the unmistakable aura of the sixties.
The Schauermann – a Hanseatic “dolce vita” by the water.
